Wow, pants with a zipper! We've incorporated a couple traditional clothing philosophies into Johnnie Magma's altered pants. Factually speaking, the "tear away" or "break away" pant concept has been around since the 70's and an early "zipper" type device known as the "Automatic, Continous Clothing Closure" was patented in the U.S. by Elias Howe in 1851. A later version of this "hookless fastener" placed # 8 out of 50 on "The Greatest Canadian Inventions" list. It was cultivated in 1914 by Swedish born Canadian immigrant Gideon Sundback, who was also president of it's Canadian based manufacturer. Such trivial knowledge is a great source of inspiration for bizarre humor and strange folks as we!
While we have yet to produce a pair of Planet Tomek pants with such a cutting edge feature as a zipper in our cafepress store, I'm sorry to announce we will not be featuring any clothing created with nut shells and pet dander! Love us? Then tell us! Drop us an email at info@planettomek.com
