I think part of the inspiration for "custom alterations" is my relationship with the lady at the dry cleaners. No matter how old or ripped they are, I always have her sew or patch up my few favorite pairs of jeans. Every time I bring them in she yells at me and says "throw those away already - I hate them all!" but she still seems to accept the $20.00 for each repair and we move on with other conversation. I am actually going to pick up a pair this weekend so I need to get myself prepared to be yelled at and of course, dish out another $40.00!
